AURORA MANISCALCO DIES IN VIENNA: POLICE CLOSE CASE, CITING WITNESS ACCOUNTS OF FALL FROM THIRD FLOOR
Vienna, Austria – Austrian magistrates have ruled that an autopsy on the body of Aurora Maniscalco, the young woman who died after falling from a third-floor apartment in Vienna, is not necessary. The case is being treated as a suicide. Despite the family's request, investigators do not believe further inquiry into the circumstances of her death is warranted.
Dynamics of the Incident and Witness Role
The 24-year-old, originally from Palermo, Italy, reportedly fell from a balcony during the night of Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22. It appears she was in the apartment with her boyfriend at the time of the incident. Media attention and Austrian investigators had focused on him, and he was interviewed as a person with knowledge of the facts. However, police maintain there is no mystery surrounding Aurora's death: witnesses reportedly saw her jump from the balcony in the middle of the night. Her boyfriend immediately attempted to assist her.
The Family's Doubts
However, the flight attendant's family is convinced that Aurora did not commit suicide. They believe she would never have done so and had no reason to. Furthermore, some relatives have stated that there had been arguments between Aurora Maniscalco and her boyfriend. They also highlighted that the young man allegedly notified them only seven hours after the incident, by which time the flight attendant was already hospitalized in critical condition.
