Brawl at Geolier Concert in Germany Leaves Three Italians Injured: Police Investigate as Attempted Murder

FRANKFURT, GERMANY • German police have launched an investigation into attempted murder after a violent altercation outside a Geolier concert in Frankfurt on May 2nd left three young men injured. The victims, one Italian national and two German citizens of Italian origin, were allegedly attacked by a large group following a discussion that escalated outside the venue.

Frankfurt, May 27, 2025 – 1:20 PM – German police have initiated an attempted murder investigation following an assault that occurred during a Geolier concert in Frankfurt on May 2nd. The incident left one Italian man and two German citizens of Italian descent injured. According to current findings, the three individuals were reportedly attacked at the Jahrhunderthalle in the Höchst district, where the Neapolitan rapper's performance had just concluded. One of the young men sustained very severe injuries, and as reported by a police spokesperson, the severity of these wounds prompted German authorities to open a file for attempted murder.

What Happened?

The exact trigger for the attack remains unclear. What is known at present is that the altercation erupted "after the concert, outside the hall." A police spokesperson told LaPresse, "There was a discussion between a large group of people against three young men—one Italian and two German citizens with Italian surnames. What began as a verbal discussion escalated into a physical assault. The group struck one of them so severely in the head that he had to be taken to the hospital." The precise circumstances of the incident "are the subject of a police investigation, and we must see what emerges," the spokesperson added.

The German newspaper Bild reports that police are urgently seeking witnesses who saw the incident or possess video or photographic material from the concert.
