EU CONSIDERS INVESTIGATION INTO ELON MUSK'S GROK AI AFTER POLAND'S REQUEST
The European Commission has received an official request from Poland to launch an investigation into the Grok AI chatbot, developed by Elon Musk and integrated into the X platform (formerly Twitter). Thomas Regnier, EU spokesperson for Digital Affairs, confirmed this, explaining that the Brussels executive is "in contact with national authorities and with X" and that "the request will be carefully examined, with a response provided in due course."
According to Regnier, Grok is an integral part of X, a platform already designated as a Very Large Online Platform (VLOP) under the Digital Services Act (DSA), Europe's digital services legislation. "This entails an obligation for X to assess and mitigate risks associated with all its services, including Grok," the spokesperson clarified. "We treat any issues of this kind with the utmost seriousness."
