Football: Former Spanish Player Nico Hidalgo Dies at 32

The football world is mourning the loss of Nico Hidalgo, who passed away at the age of 32 after a battle with lung cancer. The midfielder, who retired in 2022 due to his illness, had a career that saw him rise through the ranks of Granada's youth academy to their first team. In 2014, he was notably acquired by Juventus, though he never made a senior appearance for the club.

Hidalgo also played for Cadiz, later signing with Racing de Santander, and concluded his career at Extremadura UD. Among the many messages of condolence, Cadiz Football Club shared a heartfelt tribute on social media: "Nico Hidalgo has left us. We will never forget your smile and your joy. Your fight is our example. Rest in peace."
