LYON-GRENOBLE DRUG BUST: 53KG COCAINE INTERCEPTED
The Border Police seized a 53-kilogram cocaine shipment. They found it in the cab of a truck and arrested the driver.
The arrest occurred during a routine coordinated territorial control operation. Between Sunday and Monday, they stopped a truck driver on the Lyon - Grenoble route. The man immediately showed signs of nervousness, prompting officers to conduct a more thorough inspection. Inside a hidden compartment in the truck's cab, they found 53 kg of perfectly packaged cocaine.
The driver, a 48-year-old Romanian man, was immediately arrested. The drugs were seized, and the driver was transferred to prison, where he awaits a validation hearing. This major seizure will undoubtedly lead to an investigation to determine the origin of the narcotics, where they came from, and their intended destination.
