PARENTS ABANDON 10-YEAR-OLD SON AT BARCELONA AIRPORT TO AVOID MISSING FLIGHT
An unbelievable incident unfolded at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, where a couple left their 10-year-old son at the terminal after discovering his document had expired, all to avoid missing their flight. The situation prompted outrage and the intervention of the Guardia Civil.
A truly baffling incident involved a 10-year-old child at Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
The story, reported by several international media outlets, allegedly took place in late July and was brought to light by Lilian, a flight coordinator, who shared her experience on TikTok, describing the scene as "completely surreal."
The child, left alone in the terminal, explained that his parents were already on board the plane, departing for their home country.
The couple, who were traveling with another child, had indeed boarded the flight. When contacted by airport staff, the parents justified their actions by stating that their son's passport had expired and that his Spanish document required a visa. To avoid missing their flight, the couple decided to board, leaving their son at the airport after notifying a relative to pick him up.
At that point, the Guardia Civil intervened, preventing the plane's takeoff. The parents and their other child were deplaned and taken to the police station, where the abandoned child was already being held. Authorities are now evaluating potential charges against the couple.
