SINNER MAKES HISTORY AT WIMBLEDON, DOWNS ALCARAZ IN FOUR SETS FOR FOURTH GRAND SLAM

Sinner Makes History at Wimbledon, Downs Alcaraz in Four Sets for Fourth Grand Slam

Jannik Sinner has etched his name in Italian tennis history by claiming the Wimbledon title, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. This marks the fourth Grand Slam title for the world number one.

The victory on the hallowed grass courts of the All England Club is not only the South Tyrolean's first triumph in London but also the first ever for an Italian male tennis player at the circuit's most prestigious tournament.

After a streak of five consecutive losses to Alcaraz, Sinner finally turned the tables, beating him for the first time in nearly two years (his last victory against the Spaniard was at the ATP 500 in Beijing in 2023). This win secures his fourth career Grand Slam title, and remarkably, his third in the last five Majors played.

Sinner's Grand Slam Dominance Continues

Sinner's latest Major adds to his impressive tally, having already won the Australian Open twice (2024 and 2025) and the US Open once (2024). His success in London further solidifies his lead in the ATP rankings, widening the gap over Alcaraz to over three thousand points.

With this monumental achievement, the 23-year-old from San Candido also becomes the most successful Italian male tennis player in Majors of all time, surpassing Nicola Pietrangeli, who holds two Roland Garros titles. Sinner now needs only the Parisian tournament to complete his coveted Career Grand Slam.

Alcaraz, who was aiming for his third consecutive Wimbledon title, experiences his first career loss in a Grand Slam final. His Major titles remain at five: US Open 2022, Wimbledon 2023 and 2024, and Roland Garros 2024 and 2025.
